FANHS Mission Statement
The mission of the Filipino American National Historical
Society (FANHS) shall be to promote understanding,
education, enlightenment, appreciation, and enrichment
through the identification, gathering, preservation, and
dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans
in the United States.

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS! Filipino American History Month 2011 The U.S. Congress and California Legislature have both officially recognized October as Filipino American History Month! Click on the link to see the resolutions. ****** City of San José Proclaims October as Filipino American History Month On Tuesday, October 25 at 1:30pm, San José Mayor Chuck Reed and the San José City Council will present for the 6th year in a row a proclamation to FANHS Santa Clara Valley commemorating October as Filipino American History Month in the City of San José. The proclamation will be presented at the City Council Meeting in the Council Chambers. A special thank you to San José Councilmember Kansen Chu for his dedication and commitment to making this proclamation possible. ****** California Legislature Passes Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 74! On September 15, 2011, the California State Legislature approved ACR 74, a resolution authored by Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-Salinas) formally apologizing to Filipinos and Filipino Americans for over 100 years of injustice and discrimination in the State of California.
